Meet David

In 2010, I was struck by a newly-licensed teenage driver. I was out for my daily bike ride, and never expected to be in an ambulance by day's end - rushed across state lines to the nearest trauma center.

My injuries were severe. My broken bones and lacerations eventually healed. On that fated November day, I joined a club that no one expects to join - I was about to begin a new life as a traumatic brain injury survivor.

Members of the medical community had little hope for any meaningful recovery. I was told that life as I knew it was over, and that I was destined to live a life of hardship and challenges.

That day was the most pivotal day of my life. I emerged stronger than ever, TBI challenges notwithstanding, with a new mission in life - to educate others about brain injury.

More About David

Professionally, I create with the written word, graphic artwork, and a wide range of other mediums in the daily world of running my company. Personally, I create as well. I work to create and recreate a safe and sacred space in our home. I create relationships and meaningful friendships.

But these days, the creation of a new life, a life after brain injury, is the main focus of my life. Long before my injury, I had a voice that carried. My written work has seen worldwide distribution over the last decade. I now use my new voice to cast a spotlight on America's silent epidemic: Traumatic Brain Injury.
